W FORT LAUDERDALE

There's nothing quite like going on an adventure, exploring some place new...especially when it's a place that neither of us have been before. We recently visited Florida to check out the Rolling Loud Festival (read the blog here), which is held in Miami Gardens, FL (located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale). Knowing the W Fort Lauderdale is a beachfront property that just completed a massive $55 million renovation, we couldn't wait to get there and check it out! It felt like we were in paradise. Read on for more about our short, but fabulous time!

We landed in Fort Lauderdale in the evening and went directly to the hotel. Since it was night we weren't able to really see the incredible views, even though the property sits directly across the street from the beach. However, walking into the lobby (or as they call it the Living Room) really sets the tone with a bar full of people enjoying live music...it's such a good vibe, you instantly know you are in a W Hotel and we were ready to grab a drink and join the fun. Although, we both wanted to get up to the room first to check it out. We were everything but disappointed!

We stayed in one of their gorgeous two bedroom residences. The open floor plan is embellished with stunning modern furnishings that are beautiful and comfortable. There are terraces lining every room, giving you quick access to the sweeping views...side note: we had no idea how mindblowing the view would be until we woke up in the morning and saw this...

Seriously, being at W Fort Lauderdale is like temporarily living in a postcard...a REAL good one! Whether we were lounging in the room, on a daybed poolside at the Wet Deck or drinking out of coconuts on the beach, it really was perfection and I haven't even gotten to the food yet!!

I love staying at a property that is truly full service. What do I mean by full service? To me it's not just having food on property, it's having incredible food and options to choose from...W Fort Lauderdale to the rescue again. Each morning we started our day with a healthy and delicious breakfast from room service. It has been and will always be one of my favorite parts of staying at a luxury hotel.

If you make it to the property DO NOT miss the sushi bar in the Living Room, it was some of the freshest seafood I have ever had and trust I am picky AF when it comes to sushi. Also make sure to hit up El Vez, I have never had such elevated Mexican food outside of Mexico and Los Angeles. I wish there was a location here in Phoenix because...well look at these dishes!

W Fort Lauderdale is also walking distance to several incredible restaurants, lounges and bars. If you love al fresco dining and pasta (I know...win/win) then you will love the Wine Garden which is just a couple short blocks away from the hotel. Everything was just perfect. My only complaint is that we didn't have more time. I look forward to trying more of what the city has to offer next time we're in town. Thank you for having us!
